Many species use the reed habitat for feeding, nesting and night rest all year long. There are several waterbirds species strongly related with the reedbeds like  Pygmy cormorant, Eurasian Bittern, Purple Heron, Little Bittern, Marsh Harrier, Hen Harrier and Common Kingfisher. Furthermore, we can also find many passerines with the same ecological relationship like Savi’s warbler, Reed Bunting,  Bearded Reedling, and Reed Warbler.
